Mary K. Lloyd has been a music lover and musician for most of her life, having sung in church choirs since her teenage years. A harper for more than 10 years, Mary specializes in Celtic, sacred, medieval and renaissance, and especially original music on the lever harp. She plays and sings solo, and with a church-based ensemble, Grace Notes, and also with the early music group, the Saint Cecilia Consort in College Station, TX. She quite often performs with a good friend in a musical duo called Kindred Spirits.
In 2006 she was named Composer in Residence for her church, First Christian Church of Bryan-College Station. She is active in the church as a member of the choir and the worship committee. In addition, she has recently begun arranging and composing songs for another church musical group called Joyful Noise, in which she plays guitar and sings.
Hobbies, when she is not immersed in music, include reading, photography, rubber-stamping and card-making, and playing with her dog – a black lab mix named Abby – and her cats.
