Taylor, Janie

I love Christmas music. It’s my favorite part of the holiday season. Over time, adding a few new carols each year, I built up a collection of my arrangements, which my students have urged me to publish. I aim for arrangements that are musical yet accessible and fairly easy to learn: easy on the harpist andeasy on the listener. Please feel free to adapt this music to make it your own; modify it if necessary to suit your skill level. Easiest pieces are at the front of the book. It works well as a playlist for about an hour’sworth of music. Playing the harp has enriched my life beyond measure. I hope my pleasure shines through in this music. It’s my intent that it would enrich you and your listeners with the comfort and joy—and hope and celebration—of the season.

Nearly twenty years ago I owned a pedal harp I seldom played, even though I had studied harp as a young girl. Then I met harpist Laurie Rasmussen and had a midlife career change. I learned about playing the lever harp and eventually became a harp teacher, performer, and music arranger.  My heartfelt thanks to the many people who have guided me on my journey. To Laurie Rasmussen, Laurie Riley, and other teachers along the way.

Season of Comfort and Joy
