Berman-Harris, Ruth

Born 1916, in New Haven, Connecticut, Ruth Berman began her harp studies at the age of thirteen. She studied with Carlos Salzedo, Marie Miller, Lucille Lawrence and Casper Reardon and Ronald Herder.

In New York she played both classical and jazz, and wrote her own Jazz arrangements.  [We are happy to say that she is now notating some of her great jazz arrangements, and they should be available within the next year.] Ruth was also a studio musician at NBC, CBS and ABC.

Ms. Berman Harris has recently moved to Arizona and is active in harp society activities there. Her current publications include:

Miniatures I for lever harp
Miniatures I for pedal harp
Miniatures III for cello and pedal harp
Miniatures III for solo pedal harp
Prayer for voice and harp
Oh Holy Night arranged (concert lever version)
Oh Holy Night arranged (concert pedal version)
Winter

Ms. Berman-Harris’ music is available at many harp music retail stores.
