Becky Baxter is well known in the world of early harp music. She has done considerable recording and performing in the arena of historical performance practice for Spanish and Italian music of the renaissance and baroque periods. She is usually seen performing as a baroque continuo harp player on the Italian triple row harp or Iberian cross-strung harp.
Exploration of medieval, renaissance and baroque harp repertoire along with performance practice research is a passion for native Texan, Becky Baxter. Ms. Baxter’s harp studies and career began during her undergraduate studies at the University of Houstonwith Beatrice Rose while she simultaneously obtained her bachelors degree in organ performance. In addition to touring for concerts and teaching at workshops all over the nation, she loves being a part of the thriving early music scene performing with Ars Lyrica and Mercury Baroque in Houston.
