He is also the author of nine books, is an avocational archaeologist active on the lecture circuit, and is a horticulturist with over a thousand gardening articles in newspapers and magazines to his credit. I. Mac holds three college degrees and is a consummate musician who has worked a half century in country, rock, pop, and jazz combos. He is a singer who plays harp, guitar, bamboo flutes, drums, and vibes. I. Mac was a U. S. Navy musician who toured Europe with an 18-piece jazz band. He held the position of principle percussionist for the Norfolk Symphony and does singles as an Irish and American folk singer
