Hurrell, Nancy

NANCY HURRELL  presents solo recitals and lectures on historical harps across the US, Canada, and the British Isles. In Boston, she performs with the early music ensembles Renaissonics, Musicians of the Old Post Road, and Ensemble Trinitas. Nancy is on the harp faculty at The Boston Conservatory, and she performs and teaches at festivals including the Boston Early Music Festival, Amherst Early Music Festival, and Somerset Harp Festivals.  Nancy is a harp consultant at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, giving gallery talks and recording on harps in the collection. She is currently working on a book about the nineteenth century Irish harp maker, John Egan, sponsored by Boston College. Nancy has a masters degree in harp performance from Texas Christian University, a degree in Fine Arts from The University of Texas at Austin, and she studied harp in Wales with Glenis Gordon-Fleet, harpist of the BBC Welsh Symphony while living in Britain for ten years.
